Get involved in the future of LWUs

Elections are underway for membership of the Water Directorate Executive Committee. The committee consists of 18 water and sewer managers from across regional and rural New South Wales, plus two representatives from Local Government New South Wales.

Letters have gone to General Managers of paid-up member councils asking for nominations to join the committee for the two-year period 2019-2020.

The committee meets in Sydney seven times per year to review and initiate projects and make decisions about the future direction of the Water Directorate. The committee has recently signed off on a five-year strategic plan that will be distributed to all councils in early December.

The mission of the Water Directorate is to provide independent technical advice to local water utilities to ensure they deliver high quality water supply and sewerage services to regional communities in NSW.
