Water Directorate Colleagues
Clarence Valley Council is anticipating an application from a contractor undertaking remediation of a service station for approval to discharge potentially contaminated groundwater to the sewer system. If DPE concurrence is granted under Section 3.2.2.3 of the Liquid Trade Waste Guidelines (noting this section of the LTWG indicates that approval would be for limited quantities of groundwater "under controlled conditions after appropriate pre-treatment, for a limited peirod"), we were wondering if any other LWUs had bonded contractors undertaking such contaminated groundwater discharge in order to recover the cost of possible adverse impacts and, if so, what was the amount of the bond imposed?
Thanks in advance
