Digital Readiness and Maturity

Local Water Utilities (LWUs) across regional NSW are under increasing pressure to improve water security, reduce water loss and maintain reliable services, often with limited resources and workforce capacity.

We're helping utilities build their digital readiness and progress through the stages of digital maturity.

Not sure where to start? Choose your own adventure by exploring key resources, meaningful connections, and/or practical case studies.

Roadmap WD & Jacobs 2025

Digital Readiness Tool

Digital maturity self-assessment for smaller councils and regional water utilities.

A practical, proportionate digital maturity self-assessment that builds on the 2018 WSAA Digital Utility Roadmap, with maturity levels and core dimensions. The content has been updated for current priorities, including AI readiness, cyber security, data governance, workforce capacity, connectivity constraints and shared service models. The assessment is intended to help each organisation identify its current maturity, agree a realistic target and prioritise a small number of achievable improvements rather than a technology investment for its own sake.
