Reuse of
Sludge and Wastewater from Water Treatment Plants

The
Water Directorate is very pleased to have developed the Reuse
of Sludge and Wastewater from WTPs Guidelines on behalf
of our member councils. The document was developed by Pollution
Solutions and Designs Pty
Ltd under the direction and peer review of the Water Directorate's
Water Subcommittee.
Developed as one of the high priority actions of the
Water Directorate's Executive Committee the document covers
many aspects of reusing sludge and wastewater including a
cost benefit analysis and survey of current practices by local
government in NSW.
Issues
examined when considering the reuse of sludge and/or wastewater
include: typical options; selection and design issues; sampling
and analysis; the legislative environment; and management
issues.
