The
Executive Committee is please to announce that the Young Engineer
Award goes to Stuart Bryan from Albury City Council.
Stuart receives reimbursement of up to $1,500 towards the
cost of travel and accommodation from the Water Directorate.
Again the AWA has very kindly provided a gratis conference
registration to Ozwater
05.
This
award aims to assist young engineers with up to 5 years experience
from member council water businesses to attend AWA's national
water conference and who may not otherwise get the opportunity
because of funding priorities.
A
strong field of four young water industry professionals were
judged on their assessment of the benefits to their councils
and benefits to themselves from attending a high profile national
water conference. Thank you to the unsuccessful nominees
and I encourage them to nominate again next year.
Ozwater
05 will be held in Brisbane from 8-12 May 2005.
Ozwater 05 is
the AWA's biennial event designed to bring the water community
together to talk about policy, technology, business and the
environment. The Water Directorate believes this conference
provides young engineers with a good opportunity to network
and increase their awareness of the water industry across
Australia.
