Now in their ninth year, the prestigious savewater! awards® have emerged as the leading water sustainability awards in Australia, recognising and rewarding excellence in water conservation and efficiency by business, government, schools, local communities, and individuals. There are eight savewater! awards® categories, including Australian Achiever, Business, Community Groups, Educational Institutions, Government, Photographic, Product Innovations, Water Utilities, plus an Overall Award for Excellence. This year the savewater!® Alliance is honoured to also be hosting the 2011 Prime Minister's Water Wise Award for the Australian Government Department of Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities, as part of the savewater! awards® program. The winners of the awards will be announced at a gala function in Melbourne on Friday 11th November 2011. All members of the Water Directorate are encouraged to consider entering the Water Utilities category or nominating an individual member of staff or council for an Australian Achiever award.

Entries are closing on Monday 8 August at 5pm so talk to your colleagues and get your nomination in soon.
