Each year the Water Directorate and AWA proudly sponsor the Conference Attendance Award for young water industry professionals. The purpose of this award is to assist a water industry professional from a regional NSW to attend the AWA's national water conference.
Water industry professionals with up to 7 years working experience, including those in their final year of study, are eligible to nominate for this Award. The winner in 2011 received a full registration to OzWater gratis and was reimbursed up to $1600 for travel expenses.
This year, ASM Mohiuddin of Singleton Shire Council won the Award and attended OzWater'11 in Adelaide from 9-11 May 2011. Mohiuddin is a chemical engineer supervising the operations of Singleton's WTP and STP.
We were very pleased to hear that Mohiuddin was able to immediately apply the information that he learnt from attending a several relevant technical presentations in his position as Utilities Engineer at Singleton. We are also pleased that as a result of attending OzWater, he has been able to enhance his technical knowledge and develop valuable contacts for his future work.
A full copy of Mohiuddin's feedback from OzWater'11 is available here.
