The WIOA NSW Operator of the Year award is sponsored each year by the Water Directorate to reward excellent performance, initiative and all round attention to detail by an operator of water or wastewater treatment facilities. We encourage all member councils to consider nominating one of your operators for this prestigious award.
The winner of the NSW Operator of the Year will join the WIOA delegation as a participant on the New Zealand Operators conference trip. This trip includes a study tour of various water and wastewater treatment plants as well as attending the WIONZ conference. The prize includes air fares and accommodation arranged by WIOA. The award winner will also receive a perpetual trophy for their Council to be kept for 12 months plus a smaller trophy to be kept by the individual.
The presentation of the NSW Operator of the Year Award will be made at the annual WIOA Water Industry Engineers and Operators Conference . This event is being held in Tamworth on 28-29 March 2012 with the winner announced at the Awards Dinner.
The nomination form should be returned to Gary Mitchell by Friday 2nd March 2012. Nominations from all water authorities in NSW are welcome and previous nominees are also welcome to renominate.
