The latest technical publication from the Water Directorate is an Addendum to the Section 64 Determinations of ETs Guidelines.

The Section 64 Determinations of ETs Guidelines was developed by the Water Directorate's Policy Subcommittee with additional analysis of data undertaken by the Western Research Institute (WRI) from Charles Sturt University. Members of the Policy Subcommittee include:

Mike Rayner, Tweed Shire Council
Eric Poga, Wellington Shire Council
Bede Spannagle, Upper Hunter Shire Council

Following the publication of the original Guidelines in January 2005, the Executive Committee recognised tha further data collection was required to check and validate some examples of the ET loadings categories in the guidelines.

Data in 15 categories was collected during 2007 and 2008 from 18 member councils and analysed by the WRI to determine whether any statistically significant relationships existed between water consumption and a number of different variables in each development category.
