Water Directorate Chair Recognised in Queen's Birthday Honours
23 June 2011
The Water Directorate is pleased to advise that our Chair, Stewart McLeod, Director of Technical Services, Dubbo City Council, received a Public Service Medal (PSM) in the recently announced Queen's Birthday Honours. Stewart received his medal for outstanding public services in the areas of water supply and sewerage management in NSW, particularly in the Dubbo region.
The citation for this award recognises Stewart "as a visionary and active leader who has championed the development of critical infrastructure in Dubbo, where he has served for over 30 years in Engineering and Technical Services." In addition to the outstanding work he has undertaken at Dubbo City Council, Stewart has also been a very active regional leader for water and sewerage utilities and long been involved in regional meetings and representation at the State and Federal Government levels.
Stewart has been a longstanding member of the Executive Committee since December 1998 and his contribution has been significant in building the profile and professionalism of the Water Directorate. Stewart has served as Deputy Chair and now Chair of the Water Directorate since February 2005.
I am sure that Stewart's many colleagues in the water industry would agree with us at the Water Directorate that this is a well deserved medal and we congratulate him on this achievement.
