Coffs Harbour Superintendent wins WIOA Operator of the Year Award

We are pleased to announce that the winner of the WIOA NSW Operator of the Year for 2010 is Les Potter, Superintendent Coffs Harbour Water Treatment Plant. Congratulations to Les who is a very worthy recipient and a great ambassador for Coffs Harbour.
The award, sponsored by the Water Directorate, was presented at the highly successful NSW WIOA Conference held this week in Bathurst. Gary Mitchell, Executive Officer of the Water Directorate and Kent Boyd, Deputy Chair of the Water Directorate were pleased to attend this Conference and present Les Potter with his trophy and prize. In addition to his trophy, Les received an all expenses paid trip as a participant in the 2010 WIOA Operators Tour of NZ for two weeks in May. The WIOA Operators Tour includes site visits to various WTP and STP facilities as well as attending the WIOG NZ Conference to be held in Hamilton from 12-14 May.
The judging criteria for the award included: continuing education/training achievement; overall plant management and condition; demonstrated attention to OH&S and other regulatory responsibilities; initiative and innovation; and demonstrating improved treatment and efficiency. Congratulations again to Les Potter and thank you to all the nominees in this year’s award. The Water Directorate encourages all our members to consider nominating for this award again next year.
