We are pleased to announce that the winner Water Directorate NSW Operator of the Year for 2008 is Peter Hale of Shoalhaven Water. Congratulations to Peter who is a very worthy recipient and a great ambassador for Shoalhaven Water.
The award was presented at the NSW WIOA Conference held in May this year. The Water Directorate was pleased to sponsor and support this practical level conference to help improve operational efficiency in the NSW water industry.
The judging criteria for the award includes: continuing education/training achievement; overall plant management and condition; demonstrated attention to OH&S and other regulatory responsibilities; initiative and innovation; and demonstrating improved treatment and efficiency.
Peter has recently retired and his knowledge and expertise will be greatly missed at Shoalhaven Water. However, Peter has indicated that in retirement he will continue to run the very popular treatment plant tours as a community service.
