This Sunday is World Water Day - a day that we can focus on the importance of water for all us to survive, stay healthy and prosper.
In Australia, over the past few years, the significance of water as a scarce resource has increased dramatically. Unfortunately for many countries around the world the scarcity of clean water supplies has been a problem for decades.
There are many activities that individuals and companies can participate in this World Water Day to highlight the urgent need for all people to access clean water.
WaterAid Australia is promoting the challenge of using just 30 litres of water per person for one day. In the developing world, 10 litres of water is the average amount that people have to cook, bathe and clean with each day. In Australia, individuals can use an average of 285 litres per day.
The Water Directorate encourages you to get involved with World Water Day to highlight the importance of water in our lives and if you want more information on various activities out the WaterAid website.
