The members of the Water Directorate recently nominated and voted for the Executive Committee for 2009-2010. Five of the nine regions regions required a vote as we had more nominations than positions vacant. Congratulations to the candidates that were chosen to be representatives of their region and to all the nominees. We had a great deal of interest in the elections this year which is a pleasing result. Without the support and participation of our members the Water Directorate would not be able to effectively represent the interests of the water industry in regional NSW.

From January 2009 the new Executive Committee will be:

Central West Region - Wayne Beatty, Orange City Council and Kent Boyd, Parkes Shire Council
Hunter Region – Brian Carter, Singleton Shire Council and Bede Spannagle, Upper Hunter Shire Council
Illawarra Region – Carmel Krogh, Shoalhaven City Council
Mid North Coast Region – Simon Thorn, Coffs Harbour City Council and Jeff Sharp, Port Macquarie-Hastings Council
Orana Region – Stewart McLeod, Dubbo City Council and Eric Poga, Wellington Shire Council
New England Region – Doug Hill, Tamworth Regional Council and Colin McIver, Armidale Dumaresq Council
North Coast Region – Mike Rayner, Tweed Shire Council and Wayne Franklin, Rous Water
South East Region – David Byrne, Cooma-Monaro Shire Council and Greg Searle, Eurobodalla Shire Council
South West Region – David Tull, Griffith City Council, Jason Ip, Riverina Water County Council and John Maxwell, Tumut Shire Council
