National 2009 savewater! awards® finalists and photographic finalists announced

The prestigious savewater! awards® has emerged as the leading water sustainability awards in Australia and are a way in which water saving stars can be recognised and rewarded for their achievements.
A judging panel consisting of 21 water industry experts from all over the world recently announced the 31 finalists. Gary Mitchell, Executive Officer, Water Directorate was a judge of the Community Action category. A list of the 31 finalists can be viewed at www.savewater.com.au
The 2009 program attracted over 700 entries, with a number of eligible entries received from the UK, USA, Africa, Canada and New Zealand in our first international category – Product Innovations.
Mr Nigel Finney, CEO of the savewater!® Alliance Inc. was extremely delighted with the high calibre of entries received in this year’s program. The winners will be announced at the awards Gala Ceremony on Friday 9 October 2009.
In addition, the finalists for the national 2009 savewater! awards® Photographic competition were announced today. Fifteen photographs from around Australia have been selected and the winners will also be announced the awards Gala Ceremony on Friday 9 October 2009.
Winners and finalists for this year’s photographic competition will receive some fantastic prizes, with the winning Primary and Secondary schools receiving $1000 cash, and individual winners and finalists receiving Nikon digital cameras and iPod shuffles.
