The latest publication prepared by the Water Directorate, Land Matters Guidelines – Stage 1, is a joint publication with the NSW Roads and Transport Directorate. The Guideline was prepared by Maddox under the direction and peer review of Policy Subcommittee of the Water Directorate and the Technical Subcommittee of the NSW Roads and Transport Directorate. A copy was mailed to all Water Directorate members this week. A second and final stage of these Guidelines is currently being developed and will be distributed next year upon completion.
The purpose of the Land Matters Guidelines – Stage 1 is to provide a user-friendly, step-by-step guide to the compulsory acquisition process set out in the Land Acquisition (Just Terms Compensation) Act 1991. The document provides guidance as to whether it is necessary to proceed through a compulsory acquisition process. Other options may include creating an easement on land with consent of the owner, or agreeing to a private sale.
Published in hard copy, with a CD Rom copy enclosed, the Land Matters Guidelines – Stage 1 is available to members and non members. To purchase a copy please contact the Water Directorate or download the order form.
