The Water Directorate Sewer Subcommittee has recently prepared the Incident Notification for Sewerage Spill or Overflow template for all member councils. We recommended councils use this template when notifying your regional EPA office of a sewerage spill or overflow.

The template provides a consistent reporting mechanism for councils and we are pleased to have produced this document with the assistance of our Sewer Subcommittee members: David Tull, Jeff Sharp, Doug Hill, Greg McDonald and Angus McLean.

If your council has a sewerage spill or overflow follow these four quick and easy steps to notify the EPA:

1. Download a copy of the Incident Notification for Sewerage Spill or Overflow and save it to your computer server.
2. Open the pdf file from the directory in which it has been saved and paste a copy of your council logo in the nominated space.
3. Print the blank template form and fill in the necessary information.
4. Fax a copy of the completed template to your regional EPA office.
