National 2009 savewater! awards® winners announced

Water saving heroes from all over Australia and around the world were recognised last Friday night at the national 2009 savewater! awards® gala ceremony in Sydney. The 15 winners were selected from over 700 entries.
Mr Nigel Finney, CEO of the savewater!® Alliance Inc was extremely delighted with the success of the evening. “The savewater! awards® are a great way to give recognition to our nation’s water saving heroes,” said Mr Finney. “All of this year’s winners have highlighted the significant changes in the thinking and behaviour towards water efficiency. We hope that all Australians will continue to take practical steps and lead the way in preserving our precious water resources,” he said.
The Overall Award for Excellence was awarded to Manheim Fowles Pty Ltd for their commitment to minisiming their environmental impact, including decreasing their use of potable water by approximately 75% over a two-year period. Visit www.savewater.com.au for a full list of all the winners for 2009.
