Inquiry into
Infrastructure Provision in Coastal Growth Areas

The
Water Directorate has recently collaborated with the AWA in
preparing a submission to the NSW Standing Committee on Public
Works inquiry into the provision of infrastructure to regional
NSW coastal growth areas.
The
aims of the inquiry were to examine:
Growth
and consolidation trends;
Needs
for basic infrastructure;
Coordination
of Commonwealth, State and Local Government strategies to
deliver sustainable growth and infrastructure;
Best
practice methods to plan, manage and provide infrastructure;
and
Management
of socio-economic and environmental considerations of infrastructure
provision.
All
13 of our coastal member councils were invited to make a submission
to the Commissioner of the Standing Committee on Public Works
with all general feedback also welcome. Thanks to those
councils who sent through their comments and submissions.
