AUS-SPEC Water and Sewerage specifications |
02 November 2000
As mentioned in last month's newsletter, owners of AUS-SPEC
# 1, should now have received their updated versions of the
Development Construction Specifications C 401 (Water Reticulation)
and C402 (Sewerage Supply) and the corresponding Development
Design Specifications D11 and D12. The Water Directorate
accepted the role of updating these specifications on behalf
of the IPWEA since the Water Directorate is the most logically
and closely related local government technical support body. The updated specifications are the culmination of approximately
10 months of arduous work, managed by the Water Directorate.
The work was primarily undertaken by Jeff Austin and overseen
by a volunteer Water Directorate sub-committee managed by
Stewart McLeod, Director Technical Services of Dubbo City
Council. The sub-committee was made up of Kent Boyd, Director
of Infrastructure of Parkes Shire Council; John Millay, Director
for Ancillary and Utility Services of Carrathool Shire Council,
Carmel Krogh, Sewerage Manager of Hastings Council; Carl
Peterson, Manager, Water Supply Sewerage of Mudgee Shire
Council and Simon Thorn, Water Supply Manager of Coffs Harbour
City Council. The sub-committee brought together a wealth
of experience from across NSW to produce a set of specifications
that we consider to be as current and appropriate as possible
for developer work in the local government water industry.
I acknowledge the team effort of all those involved including
the invaluable assistance from DLWC personnel, John Speed
and Michael Poon as well as the input from Bill Woodcock,
National AUS-SPEC Project Manager of the IPWEA/SKM Joint
Venture. In keeping with the evolving nature of all AUS-SPEC
specifications, any comments or modifications that users
of the updated specifications have, should be sent to Bill
Woodcock on 9928 2544 for future consideration. Purchase
enquiries can also be directed to Bill Woodcock. The IPWEA
provide training on how to use the AUS-SPEC suite of specifications
including the new water and sewer specifications.
