Last Friday the Water Directorate and the Australian Water
Association signed a Memorandum
of Understanding at the AWA (NSW Branch) Regional Conference
in Dubbo.
The
signing of this MoU replaces a previous agreement signed in
1999 at the AWA Regional Conference held in Albury.
Daryl McGregor, Chair of the Water Directorate, noted that
the "we are very pleased to reaffirm our previous agreement
with AWA to work together cooperatively in advancing the water
industry in NSW." In addition he stated that "there
are many ways in which we can collaborate, particularly in
the areas of industry promotion, training and professional
development."
The
Water Directorate and the AWA have a strong and shared interest
in the successful management of regional urban water services
in NSW. Both organisations believe that better outcomes can
be achieved, with greater efficiency, if we collaborate much
more closely from now on with the assistance of an MoU.
