The
Local Government and Shires Associations 2005 Water Management
Conference will be hosted by Narrabri Shire Council, Wednesday
evening 31 August to Friday 2 September, at the Narrabri Crossing
Theatre. The program and all necessary registration information

The
2005 Water Management Conference agenda explores:
- The
roll out of the National Water Initiative and the Australian
Water Fund,
- The
implications of new water pricing structures,
- Emerging
issues related to water recycling and water leakages,
- The
implementation of integrated water cycle management and
- The
Country Towns Water Supply and Sewerage program
The
NSW Minister for Local Government, the Hon. Tony Kelly MC
will address the conference on State Government key water
management issues. The Hon. John Anderson MP, Federal Member
for Gwydir and Ken Matthews, Chief Executive Officer of the
National Water Commission, will be the key note speaker, focussing
on the roll out of the National Water Initiative.
The
program includes the Water Directorate's Water Managers' forum,
a local field trip, a one day partner program, workshops sessions
on the future of council owned water utilities, and trade
displays of industry products and government agencies.
