In
December 2006 the Water Directorate Chair, Stewart McLeod,
and the IPWEA (NSW Division) President, John Truman, signed
a revised Memorandum of Understanding which reflects the common
goals and confirms the strong partnership between the two
organisations.
The
Water Directorate and IPWEA (NSW Division) have worked in
close cooperation for eight years since the Water Directorate
was first established in 1999. The IPWEA has provided
secretariat services to the Water Directorate throughout this
time and involved the Water Directorate in each of its annual
conferences in an effort to promote the work undertaken by
local government water industry professionals.
The
common focus of both organisations is to improve the delivery
of public services to our communities through offering membership
services and advice. The MoU confirms our common purpose and
is conceived as an initiative to bring the two organisations
closer together.
