The
Water Directorate's Annual General Meeting was held on Thursday
9 November 2006. A quorum was achieved with 8 eligible attendees
and all requirements under the Incorporated Associations Act
were satisfied.
Stewart
McLeod , Chair of the Water Directorate, noted that the upcoming
challenges for the Water Directorate would be to:
continue to oversee the establishment
and uptake of the Water Loss Management Program amongst
NSW regional water utilities;
continue to provide
high quality technical publications to our member councils;
and
continue to promote the NSW water and
sewer industry as an efficient and sustainable industry
into the future.
Stewart
also acknowledged the important contribution of the former
Chair, Daryl McGregor, to the Water Directorate over the past
seven and a half years.
Gary
Mitchell listed in his Executive Officer's report the following
highlights from the past 12 months:
membership remained high at 90% of eligible
members;
three technical publications were
produced, including the O&M Manual for STPs;
successful announcement of the
Water Loss Management Program; and
joint project with Qld Water Directorate
completed;
involvement in a number of other
activities including the Water Managers Forums in Narrabri
and Sydney, LGSA meetings and conferences and sponsoring
two water industry awards.
