The
Water Directorate's Annual General Meeting was held on Thursday
17 November 2005. A quorum was achieved with 14 eligible attendees
and all requirements under the Incorporated Associations
Act were satisfied.
Daryl
McGregor, Chair of the Water Directorate, noted that the upcoming
challenges for the Water Directorate would be to:
increase
our revenue base;
manage
the start up of the important, yet high risk, Water Loss
Program;
manage
the increasing work commitments of the Executive Officer
and Chairman.
Gary
Mitchell listed the following highlights from the past 12
months:
membership
remained at 96 member councils;
four
publications were produced over the period ;
joint
project with Qld Water Directorate completed;
involvement
in a number of other activities including the recent Premier's
Awards for the Trade Waste Guidelines, Forums in Moama and
Sydney, LGSA meetings and conferences.
Attendees
resolved to increase membership fees annually by a minimum
of CPI increase for all member councils. This will ensure
that the income raised by the Water Directorate remains consistent
with the cost of the projects being undertaken.
