The DEUS Best Practice Management of Water Supply and Sewerage Guidelines were gazetted on Wednesday 5 May 2004. At a recent meeting with representatives of DEUS, including the Director General, David Nemtzow, the Water Directorate and LGSA put forward a number of concerns and issues that needed to be clarified before the implementation of the Guidelines. 

An outline of these issues of concern and the outcomes of the meeting is available in the LGSA Weekly Circular Item 15 for 7 May 2004. In addition, a summary table of issues and concerns was presented by the Water Directorate to DEUS information. This table is attached below for information.

With the gazettal of the Best Practice Management Guidelines the Water Directorate is disappointed that a number of the issues raised by member councils were not been addressed.
