In
May, AWA previewed an outdoor water conservation initiative
that will be jointly managed by four industry associations
- WSAA, the Irrigation Association of Australia, the Nursery
and Garden Industry of Australia and the AWA. The scheme will
be officially launched in October during Water Week and is
known as Smart Approved WaterMark.
The
key objectives of the Smart Approved WaterMark scheme are
to assist in the reduction of per capita water consumption
– especially in the areas of outdoor water-use via the
labelling of appropriate water using/saving products and water
related services and organisations.
The
Smart Approved WaterMark scheme is not-for-profit, voluntary
and applications are assessed by an independent expert panel.
